so i’m thinking of applying to a school that has different fine arts as its main focus and i was going to apply to the creative writing part. it asks for 3 or 4 poems in the admission and i was wondering if anyone thought that these are good enough to even be considered for this place.

Out Of Consciousness

Like shadows of guilt

consuming the sky’s famed gaze

we were eternal

poem #2:

Schizophrenic Panic

Hands. 

Are they real?
Or are we really searching under galaxies,

falling behind planets?

When our dreams turn orange

and our nightmares are shown to the world

with each breath we exhale.

Walls.
They’re caving in on me.
Leaving a blood soaked floral masterpiece

in the wake of the orchestra

bidding its adieus 

to me and you. 

But you.
You’re simply me

stuck under tear bathed euphoria.

I still can’t see through

the hologram that floats in your eye sockets

and lingers under the tip of your tongue 

when you say that you wish you would disappear.

How to Save a Life

I.
The sky used to be so blue

but all of our dreams fell

and the mellifluous hum
that played from sun stricken waves

turned into thrashing clashes

produced from underwater manuals
of how to save a life.

II.
Now

We classify the wounds crawling under our skin
as suffering.
And heavy souls as dead weight.

III.

We remain influenced

by tales of hope and rehab

but still live in between
self sustained window panes.

IV.

Remember

Our airwaves are shared.

And we never fall underway
of complete idleness.
